Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) was established in 2nd November2006 to provide facilities for higher education, research and extension in all the branches of agricultural sciences.

Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) was established in 2nd November 2006 to provide facilities for higher education, research and extension in all branches of agricultural sciences. Sylhet Agricultural University Research System (SAURES) was established through an Ordinance approved in 2008. Since then, the project-based research activities carried out by the teachers of different Faculties of SAU came under the direct management of SAURES. The main responsibility of SAURES is the administration and management of all research projects of the University. Our Research Activities
SAURES takes care of both fundamental and applied research programmes in various fields of agricultural sciences. At present the number of ongoing research projects stands at 115 and 742 research project already completed by the SAURES management from different sectors of agricultural sciences.

Conference, Worskhop and Seminars
SAURES is regularly arranging workshops, seminars and training sessions to share new research findings, increasing skills, experties, communication and collaboration among the teachers, scientists and researchers of SAU and other research organization.

Agricultural Technologies Developed
Sylhet Agricultural University invented several new technologies, discovered new breeds and developed hybrid breeds of crops. SAU already handover new technologies to ministry for field level extension. Also research works on development of new breeds are going on on the basis of previous research.
